Sponsorship

If you wish to sponsor a non-local, please submit an email to info@d-dsa.ca with your name, membership number, and the name of the person you wish to sponsor.  We will relay this information to Image Crafters, to make sure they have the appropriate information.

Out Of Town Membership Sales Restarted

There was much progress made at the February 11th General Meeting.  Several new motions were passed, the details of which can be found on the Documents page.

The major change is the addition of a sponsorship program.  Essentially, anyone who does not qualify as being local must be sponsored by someone who does qualify.  The sponsorship equates to a 1 year probationary period, after which that person no longer needs to be sponsored for membership.

There is still a 350 member cap for non-local members, so sponsorship does not guarantee a membership.  At this time, it is still first come/first serve.  Details on the membership cap, waiting list, grandfathering etc. will be hashed out at the March AGM.

Everyone who attended the General Meeting who do not qualify as local have been sponsored by the Executive Team (if you signed the attendance list).

If you are a previous non-local member of the DDSA and do not have someone to sponsor you, contact the Executive Team by email and we will review your membership.

Membership sales for non-local members who have been sponsored will resume on Monday, February 13th at Image Crafter Signs.  Local membership sales remain unaffected.

Finally, if you are non-Local but have already purchased your membership for the year, you are considered to be Executive sponsored.

General Meeting, Feb 11th, 2017

We will be having a General Meeting on February 11th, 2017 at Noon in the conference room of the Ramada Inn.   Only local members (those who reside within 70km of the range) have voting privileges at the meeting.  There is a map on the Membership Info page which clarifies this area.

‘Out of Town’ Membership Sales Suspended

Membership sales for those people who live further than 70km from the Range have been suspended until a meeting can be arranged and some issues voted on.  The meeting is being arranged for mid February, and the date/time/location will be posted as soon as it is known.  Please do not call Image Crafter Signs and disrupt their business, they do not have any more information than what is posted here.
Local membership sales will remain unaffected.

Memberships Now Available

The orientation course has been set up, and memberships are now being sold at Image Crafter Signs in Drumheller for the 2017 season.  If you are coming in from out of town, we recommend that you call ahead to ensure that there will be someone available to administer the orientation and membership purchase.  See the Membership Info page for details.

Orientation Course

Development of the Orientation Course is underway.  It may be several weeks yet before things are set up and we are able to begin selling memberships for the 2017 season.  Please be patient while we get things organized.  And as a reminder to all of our existing members, the 2016 memberships have been extended until the end of January.

2017 Memberships

As of the December 4th Meeting, there will be a change as to how memberships work this coming year.  Due to the continued disregard of the rules by some members, there will now be a mandatory orientation/range officer course that prospective members will have to take before they will be issued a membership.  This will put all members on the same page with regards to range operation and safety.

This course will apply to existing members as well.  Because setting this course up will take us into the new year, existing memberships will be extended until the end of January, 2017.  We will post the course schedule as soon as possible.
